What this surgery actually does.
Orthognathic surgery is the definitive treatment when orthodontics alone cannot correct the underlying skeletal relationship. Common indications include severe underbite (class III), overbite with retrognathia (class II), open bite, facial asymmetry, and obstructive sleep apnoea linked to maxillomandibular deficiency.
Every case at the practice begins with a cone-beam CT and a digital workflow. We produce 3D-printed surgical splints from the virtual plan, which means the position of the jaws in theatre is millimetre-accurate to the rehearsal. International patients receive a full pre-operative video consultation and a printed treatment dossier before they travel.
The surgery itself is performed in a JCI-accredited partner hospital under the care of a board-certified maxillofacial anaesthetist. Most patients are discharged on day two, and the orthodontic finishing is coordinated with the patient's home orthodontist.
